ESL has revealed additional details regarding the European closed qualifier for ESL One Cologne 2017 that will take place on May 20-21. ESL One Cologne returns to the LANXESS Arena on July 7-9, with a $250,000 prize pool and some of the world's best teams such as Natus Vincere, FaZe and Virtus.pro already confirming their attendance. However, lesser known teams will also have a chance to qualify for the tournament through a series of qualifiers, starting with the European open qualifiers that will be held on April 22-23 and 28-29. Sign ups are available here and here. More importantly, new details about the European closed qualifier have been revealed. The qualifier will feature 12 teams: nine invited ones, the team that wins ESL Meisterschaft and the two best teams from the open qualifier cups. The 12 teams will battle it out in a single-elimination, best-of-three bracket that will take place on May 20-21.
